Both companies display a highly defined corporate hierarchical structure that is very specific and that is aimed at dealing with prevailing market competition. Marketing of the electronic products produced by both companies is shaped by demographics, economic and political factors. In demographic factors, the companies have to consider the demographic trends of the target markets they want to venture into. The size, dens ity, location, gender and occupations of the target markets affect the marketing of electronic products. For instance, the gadgets like the Samsung Galaxy tab can only be marketed to young people and people in business. Itââ¬â¢s highly unlikely that older people say baby boomers are likely to buy the product. Additionally, different sections of the population have different occupations which dictate their income and way of life. People in business are likely to buy the Galaxy tab compared to farmers. While marketing, the companies consider the economic factor which more or less refers to the economic strength of the target market. Further to that marketing managers of the two companies will likely consider the purchasing power of the people in potential markets. For instance the gadgets are likely to do better in the US, Europe and Japan and some parts of Asia owing to the high purchasing power of their populations. The intensity of the competition determines the amount of resources and tactics used. Despite Samsungââ¬â¢s success in producing LCD panels, it faces competition from Sony and more closely LG, another Korean electronics maker. In 2008 fro instance, LG had a market share of 25.8% compared to 26.2% of Samsung in the same year. Sony Bravia is currently the top selling LCD television brand in the US. However, it faces growing competition form Samsung and LG which have the majority global market share. Another factor that influences the marketing approaches of the two companies has b een the consumer bases. In their marketing the companies have concentrated on reinforcing the value of their products to the consumers. The assumption among the electronics makers has been that the skinny the TV is the more appealing it is to consumers. In 2009, Sony fronted the Bravia to the consumers as the worldââ¬â¢s skinniest TV in an apparent challenge to Samsung and JVCââ¬â¢s models that were skinnier. Since then the competition between the two has shifted to picture quality and visual characteristics like 3D images that consumers value more. Both Sony and Samsung have adapted different marketing approaches as far as market intermediaries are concerned. Market intermediariesââ¬â¢ help in product penetration where the company is unlikely to achieve its targets in the short tem were it to do it alone. Sony has been the market longer than Samsung and has therefore managed to establish a wider network of regional offices that spearhead marketing compared to Samsung. Thou gh Samsung is adopting the same approach, it has a large network of intermediaries who aid in its marketing. Swot Analysis Sony has dominated the electronics industry for a long time. Samsung has however matched the innovation and marketing strategies of the Japanese rival by exploiting its competitorââ¬â¢s weaknesses. A swot analysis of both companies puts into perspective the position they are in right now. In terms of strengths Sony has a diversified business operations machine that guarantees stable revenue. Additionally, it has a strong brand that has played a crucial role in its gaining acceptance. Furthermore, it has a diversified client base spanning many geographical places effectively reducing business risks. In terms of opportunities, the company has undertaken reorganization, which is likely to contribute to its savings. Also, there has been a focus on emerging economies which is likely to contribute to long-term growth of the company. The partnership with FIFA is ano ther opportunity if well utilised will enhance corporate value. The company experiences weaknesses in the high cost of manufacturing that in the long-run will lead to lower margins. The threats to its progress include the unstable international exchange rates that may affect its margins and the long-lasting impacts of the economic slowdown. Samsung on the other hand has a very strong advantage when it comes to technology. The companyââ¬â¢s investment in advanced technology has enabled it crush competition from market leaders. Additionally, its investment in human resources and product design also form part of its strengths. Samsung has however not created niche markets like its rival Sony Corp. Its target on the mass market and the low pricing strategy can be considered a weakness because customers are likely to consider them low quality. Furthermore, some of the companyââ¬â¢s products have been reviewed as not being user friendly. There are however many opportunities the comp any can exploit. The company has a head start in the mobile telephony through the introduction of low priced and user friendly cell phones. Further variation of its products is also another opportunity that Samsung can exploit to increase its market share. The biggest threat the company is facing is competition from other electronic manufacturers like Sony and LG, and Panasonic and Nokia. Market segmentation Effective marketing takes into account different segmentation variables when dividing the market into target segments (Reed, 2006, p. 43). There may be many segments depending on the nature of the market and the products on offer. However, the most common variables include benefit variable and demographic variable. Benefit variable deal with the needs and benefits expected by customers. Demographic variables on the other hand define the characteristics of the target customers and potential clients. Variables like gender, age and occupation are critical in market segmentation. So ny and Samsung have numerous products that are suited for different markets based on their use and need. In terms of the market segments the products under discussion from both companies are targeted at the same markets. Undifferentiated targeting strategies on the other hand involve sending of one promotional message to about the benefits of the product to the market. Concentrated targeting strategies on their part carry messages that communicate product benefits to specific segments of the consumer base. Many businesses choose a target strategy based on the benefits they expect from the market, the market segment they are tying to reach and the costs of the passing the message to the target market. Sony Corp. uses all the above targeting strategies because compared to Samsung; it has curved clear market niches. Samsung on the other hand mostly uses differentiate d targeting because its marketing mostly targets the mass market. Samsung is yet to carve its niche market hence the need for concentrated targeting is low. Positioning strategy In the market, different companies use different positioning strategies. They include, price and quality, use or application of the product, product class, competitors (McDonald Wilson, 2011, p. 90). In product attributes, business use one or few of the products attributes through which they popularise it to the consumers. In pricing and quality, companies use varying prices and qualities to attract different classes of consumers. The quality can be superior or lower quality both of which will cost differently. The use or application on the other is used when companies position their products to suit the habits and chores that the target population engages in. in competitor positioning, some companies engage in direct and purposeful comparison of their products to similar ones in the market to gain entry. S amsung has engaged in the pricing positioning where its products including the Samsung LE40A656 LCD TV are low costing compared to similar products from Sony. Moreover, workers in the large enterprises shall be given thirty-percent of the profits, and peasants whose lands they tilled were not subject to redistribution shall be granted fifty-five percent of the sugar production. Lastly, all ill-gotten wealth by previous regimes shall be confiscated, including those presently owned by heirs and legatees of discredited rulers of former regimes. While the Cuban Revolution has indeed been able to achieve racial democracy in many years of its existence by providing socio-economic and political opportunities to all Cubans regardless of color, by the time the Revolution entered its ââ¬ËSpecial Periodââ¬â¢ to cope with the collapse of the Soviet Union, there exists a creeping reversion to the years of racial prejudice against blacks prior to the 1959 triumph of the revolution. This renewed prejudice is created by the protracted economic crisis since the 1990s and the measures of the Cuban government in allowing Western-driven tourism to take root in places like Havana. As black Cubans are precluded from having free access to employment opportunities in the tourist centers, many blacks then subscribe to criminal activities and subsequently cracked down by security forces through unwarranted searches and a general profiling as being involved in criminal activities. Thereafter, a cultural construct by the white Cuban population is created ââ¬âa throwback to the racial prejudice against black Cubans prior to the Revolution. On the other hand, Portrait of Teresa shows the contradictions in Teresa between the stated aims of the Cuban Revolution for gender equality and the reality of her domestic situation, in which the husband remains king of the household despite the greater opportunities given by the Revolution to women for greater self-expression, employment access, among others. Nonetheless, only time and the Cuban people will tell whether these rising inequalities may soon be addressed and rectified by the proud and mighty Cuban people. People with schizophrenia often suffer terrifying symptoms such as hearing internal voices not heard by others, or believing that other people are reading their minds, controlling their thoughts, or plotting to harm them. Their speech and behavior can be so disorganized that they may be incomprehensible or frightening to others. Available treatments can relieve many symptoms, but most people with schizophrenia continue to suffer some symptoms throughout their lives; it has been estimated that no more than one in five individuals recovers completely. Schizophrenia is found not only in the US but the whole world. The first signs of schizophrenia often appear as confusing, or even shocking, changes in behavior. The sudden onset of severe psychotic symptoms is referred to as an ââ¬Å"acuteâ⬠phase of schizophrenia. ââ¬Å"Psychosis,â⬠a common condition in schizophrenia, is a state of mental impairment marked by hallucinations, which are disturbances of sensory perception, and/or delusions, which are false yet strongly held personal beliefs that result from an inability to separate real from unreal experiences. Schizophrenia can be traced back to Egyptian times. The word "schizophrenia" comes from the Greek roots schizo (split) and phrene (mind) to describe the thinking of people with the disorder. His term was not meant to convey the idea of split or multiple personality, a common misunderstanding by many people. Since Bleuler's time, the definition of schizophrenia has continued to change, as scientists attemp t to more accurately determine the different types of mental diseases. Without knowing the exact causes of these diseases, scientists can only base their classifications on the observation that some symptoms tend to occur together. Both Bleuler subdivided schizophrenia into categories, based on the symptoms and prognoses. Over the years, those working in this field have continued to attempt to classify types of schizophrenia. Five types were delineated in the DSM-III: disorganize... ...order, but do not cure it. Many psychological treatments are also available: stress relief, making sure the patient feels good about themselves, also helping families deal with it and help them help the patient. Schizophrenia is a very serious mental disorder that more people have to take serious. Anyone can be diagnosed with the disorder and suffer life long affects from it. We need to be more aware of it and research more on new treatment methods. Although there is success stories there are many more stories that end in death because of suicide from the person and their depression from the disorder. We need to educate the public about the disorder and use technology to our advantage and try to find a definite cure for the disorder. Although there is treatment for the symptoms it is not the way a person should live taking a pill every day or spending thousands of dolars on doctor bills to try and be cured. Schizophrenia is a very serious disorder that needs to be researched ever more so we can stop the suffering of the over 2 million people that have and deal with the disorder everyday.

My Most Special Moment
Once I was training in my boxing gym and I was lifting 18kg weights. The other weights were set out on the floor for when I needed them. I was on my last set of ten when I fell back and the weight came crashing down and landed on my leg. I couldnââ¬â¢t feel my left leg. I twisted my ankle and then I was rolling around in excrushiating pain. My manager came in once he heard my call of pain. He sat me up and I hobuld over to the ring. He sat me down on the side of the ring and got me a glass of warter. Ten minutes later I gave my dad a call and he came straight to the gym.My dad and my manager took me to hospital. We arrived in an hours time. The traffic was bad and I hobuld over to a chair and sat there with my manager while my dad went to reseption. By the time we got to the hospital my leg had swollen up to the size of a baby elephants foot. I was called in, the doctor said ââ¬ËWhat is your name? ââ¬â¢ I said ââ¬ËMark. ââ¬â¢ I was given an x-ray and sent to the emerge ncy room and was told some hart breaking news considering that I had a big fight coming up, they said, you have broken your tibia and sprained your ankle.I had to stay in a hospital bed for 2 to 3 months. Each day my leg was getting better, My family visited every day and my manager to. I was getting better pritty fast. My manager came in the room and gave me good and bad news. I said, ââ¬ËCan I hear the good news first? ââ¬â¢ ââ¬ËOK,ââ¬â¢ he said. I was told that Joe Calzaghe, one of the best boxers in the world, was coming to see me in a few weeks time. And the bad news was that my boxing match was canceled but I wasnââ¬â¢t bothered about that. After a week, Joe came to see me. I was waiting with the door open.He came in and my dad and my manager left us to talk. We were just chatting about boxing and I was asking questions about how many fights he had won. He said just over 18 in his career. He asked me how any I had won and I told him six so far. We had a good cha t and a cuple of moments later he said, ââ¬ËWill you be able to make it to my match. Iââ¬â¢ll get you front row seats. ââ¬â¢ I said, ââ¬ËI donââ¬â¢t have enough money. ââ¬â¢ But he produced tickets from his pocket and they were for the front row by his corner. I said, ââ¬ËThank you so much. You have made my day. ââ¬â¢ I was out of hospital in no time.My dad came to pick me up and I was happy to see my street and most importantly my family. I was welcomed home with celebrations and we partied. The next day the boxing match was on and me and my family were ready to go. We got there in an hour and sat in our seats. Joeââ¬â¢s fight was over in three rounds with a clean knockout and the towel thrown in. I jumped up in excitment and after the match he called me and asked if I wanted to go clubbing. I said ââ¬Ëyes. ââ¬â¢ So we went out together and had a good time. We kept in touch and we are good friends even now.
